Gazzy Garcia better known as Lil Pump was born on August 17, 2000. Lil Pump's rise to fame began in 2016 when Chicago rapper Smokepurpp invited Garcia to collaborate on a track he had made which was later independently released on Soundcloud as Garcia's debut single, "Lil Pump". Shortly after, Garcia released the four followup singles "Gang Shit", "Ignorant", "Drum$tick" and "Elementary" that were streamed over three million times each gaining Garcia massive recognition in the hip hop community. In January 2017, Garcia released two more singles entitled "D Rose" and "Boss" that once again went viral on Soundcloud and accumulated a combined 70 million streams. As a result of its popularity, Chicago director Cole Bennett produced a music video for "D Rose" and as of August 2018 the video has received 148 million views. In June of 2017, Garcia obtained and signed two record deals at the age of 16. One with Tha Lights Global and one with Warner Bros. Records however his contract with Warner Bros. was voided because Garcia was under 18 at the time of signing. Shortly after signing his record deal, Garcia announced his debut album would be released in August 2017 however the release date was pushed back and the song "Gucci Gang" was released instead. "Gucci Gang" became Garcia's first Billboard Top 100 single peaking at third on November 8, 2017. On October 6, 2017, Garcia's debut album "Lil Pump" was released and featured multiple major artist including Smokepurpp, Lil Yachty, Gucci Mane, 2 Chainz, Rick Ross and Chief Keef. After the release of his single "I Shyne" and the voiding of his Warner Bors. contract, Garcia peaked the interest of many large labels but ultimately signed an 8 million dollar contract with Warner Bros. Garcia has since released the 2 singles "Esskeetit" and "Drug Addicts".
